Global Passion Tour

August-September 2006

Loren Cunningham comes to the UK

YWAM founder Loren Cunningham (pictured left with wife Darlene) will visit these shores this year in August and September. He has felt a real call to come to England and preach a message of helping this country rediscover its missionary heritage. To quote him: "I believe Britain is ready for a new surge in missions. It's her heritage and roots - I wouldn't miss God's call to be a part. See you soon."

All you need to know about Loren ...

Loren Cunningham is the Founder of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) and also Founder and President of the University of the Nations (UofN), YWAM’s global university, and the leader of the Kona YWAM Campus in Hawaii, USA.

Loren has personally gone to every sovereign nation on earth, all dependent countries, and more than 150 territories and islands, for the sake of the gospel. This has given him valuable insights into global trends and uniquely prepares him to share God's strategies for world evangelism. His wisdom, experience, leadership understanding and call to build bridges of unity within the body of Christ have caused him to be sought out by leaders of nations and organizations worldwide. He speaks publicly in 30 to 40 nations a year, and has spoken to live audiences from a few to more than a million people gathered in one location.

Born in Taft, California, Loren’s family heritage is rich with generations of Christian ministers. His educational background includes three Bachelor degrees, a Master of Science in Administration of Education, and two Honorary Doctorates. Loren is the author of four books, translated into 84 languages: Is That Really You God?, Making Jesus Lord, Daring To Live On The Edge, and Why Not Women?

Loren and his wife Darlene currently reside in Kona, Hawaii, USA, and also spend part of each year ministering in Europe, the Middle East and Africa from Lausanne, Switzerland. Their daughter, Karen, has a UofN Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. Their son, David, is a graduate of University of Southern California, an alumni of the UofN, and a film director (go to www.toendallwarsmovie.com for an example of his work).

As part of his visit, he will be undertaking a “tour” of the nation, visiting major cities in England. He will be speaking most evenings in large public meetings, as well as at a number of daytime meetings for church leaders, youth leaders and other groups. He will be supported at all venues by international worship band onehundredhours.

Onehundredhours

“Faith, hope, and rock ‘n’ roll”. Not three things you’d immediately associate with each other, but with onehundredhours, they merge into one story, one sound. The band has two releases with Survivor Records described as “anthemic”, “blistering” and “something of a masterpiece”, and has played in many nations across the world.

He will also be the main speaker at the YWAM England staff gathering (31 August–2 September). (Please note that, contrary to previous communicaitons, Loren will now NOT be visiting Scotland.)

We would value your prayers for the event. Please pray for
* protection on and good health for Loren in the run-up to the tour;
* the Church in this nation to rediscover its missions heritage as a launching-pad for the next wave of British missionaries;
* many people to be attracted to the meetings, hear the message and respond;
* the planning team as it seeks to sort out all the logistical matters surrounding the tour and also to advertise the public events;
* preparations for the YWAM England staff gathering, that it might bear much fruit among the staff.
