What We Do »
Global
Sending and supporting missionaries around the world
We in YWAM England believe
in trying to meet the needs of the world we live in (go to Who We Are for more on this).
To fulfil our part in reaching the world with the love of Jesus, YWAM
England has a number of particular overseas areas that we focus on:
These are listed in more detail below.

Relief and Development (R&D) - Harpenden
We
recruit professional personnel to work both long-term and short-term in R&D projects overseas, and provide encouragement and support. We also raise
funds for R&D projects around the world.

Africa Field Support Office (AFSO) - Harpenden
The mission of the AFSO is "To encourage, equip and assist YWAM's African leaders to see their God-given visions become reality". This we do through a combination of field-based training and consultancy; UK-based fundraising and communication; and recruitment of key expatriate staff willing to serve African projects and ministries. We are currently involved with HIV/AIDS projects, literacy programmes, streetchildren work and other projects in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Congo amd Mozambique, and expect to take on projects in Angola and Zimbabwe within the next 12 months.

Frontier Missions:

Frontier Missions (FM) International Coordination
Office (ICO) - Harpenden
A service office for YWAM Frontier Missions, the FM ICO oversees church-planting
teams among the world's least-Christian people groups across the globe. Promotes
the work of YWAM FM through communications and support services.

The Frontier Missions Centre - Holmsted Manor
The FMC supports YWAM Frontier Missions projects and personnel worldwide, particularly in Indonesia, India and Poland. It also organises short-term summer teams and the Year For God programme, and partners with local churches to reach out to those minority peoples in our own communities yet to hear the gospel.

countries of the Middle East and Greek-speaking Cyprus. Discipleship training
challenges young people to reach out to their communities. Other aspects
include publication and distribution of literature in Arabic, the 30-days prayer
focus for the region and development of children's and youth work.

Marine Reach - Harpenden
Marine Reach is a maritime arm of YWAM and is dedicated to linking resources, to supporting new and existing initiatives, to reach people in need. Using tools such as ships, trucks, containers, teams and clinics, Marine Reach seeks to serve people in remote areas, such as the South Pacific, South East Asia, Africa and the Amazon river. Marine Reach has an appeal in progress to purchase a ship for its work in the Amazon.

England at the United Nations, and although it speaks into any relevant policies,
focuses especially on two worldwide issues - female genital cutting and child
trafficking.

Journeys have taken place in England, France, Spain and Portugal and further journeys are planned in Holland and USA (2004), the Caribbean (2005), West Africa (2006) and again in England in 2007 for the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade.
